The church’s place and voice are often disregarded in today’s society. Political disagreements, social ills and moral decay challenge the church to speak and act — but how can it do so effectively? That’s the focus of Concordia Seminary’s 33rd Annual Theological Symposium [1] “Church and Society: Living by Hope in a Secular Age,” slated for Sept. 19-20 on campus. Registration [1] is now open.
This year’s plenaries and sectionals will explore how the Christian hope of a healed and new creation can better shape the church’s engagement and witness with culture and society.

- Eighth Annual Dr. Jack Dean Kingsbury Lecture in New Testament Theology presented by Dr. James W. Voelz [6], the Dr. Jack Dean Kingsbury Professor of New Testament Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis
- St. Louis Cardinals game Monday, Sept. 18, hosted by LCMS Foundation. Complimentary tickets are limited and are first come, first served.
Registration [1] is $160 and includes meals. The registration deadline is Sept. 5. Seminary faculty and students can attend for free but must pre-register. Walk-in registration will be available for $200 per person and will include meals.
